Gabby Petito's family described her as a "beautiful soul," full of life, always positive, and an adventurer. She was also a great sister and friend who was always willing to help others.
Gabby had many talents included art, videography and photography. She used those talents to share her adventures with the world by documenting the "Beginning of Our Van Life." That's when the world was introduced to travel vlogger, via Youtube.
It was during Gabby's van life vlog series when her life was tragically taken and her family would find out the truth about the monster, who was her fiance.
Gabby and her fiance had planned to spend months visiting various national parks across the United States. The vacation turned tragic when Gabby went missing in August 2021. Her body was found on September 19, 2021, in Grand Teton, Wyoming. That was the last location she had vlogged from.
Her fiance would return home to Florida without Gabby, which set off a firestorm of attention on social media. So many eyes were looking for Gabby.
Her fiance would later take his own life, but not before writing out a confession to taking Gabby's precious life.
Many clues from the public helped detectives find Gabby's body and bring her back home to her family.
According to her family, Gabby was feisty and would stand up for people. That is now the mission for her family as they... TURN THEIR TRAGEDY INTO PURPOSE.

Karen Conti is a dynamic lawyer, educator, speaker, and media personality.
Karen has done something many of us couldn't even imagine doing. She spent months meeting with and holding personal conversations with one of the most prolific serial killers in history...John Wayne Gacy, How you might ask?
For 38 years, Karen has been a trial attorney, handling numerous high-profile and noteworthy cases across the country, including an appeal before the United States Supreme Court and the final death row appeals for serial killer John Wayne Gacy.
I know what you might be thinking -- defense attorney for a serial killer! But it's not always black and white. "We knew he was guilty. We weren't fighting to prove his innocence. We were trying to avoid the death penalty." Karen said.
Karen says she took on the death row appeal of John Wayne Gacy for two reasons: one she is not in favor of the death penalty...and two: she was trying to get the prolific serial killer to give information about the victims who still have not been found. That's right, in her own way she was advocating for the victims' families to help give them closure.

At BEYOND THE CRIME Karen will dive into the moments she spent with Gacy before he was put to death.
Last year, Karen published her first book, “Killing Time With John Wayne Gacy: Defending America’s Most Evil Serial Killer on Death Row.”
The book was an Amazon #1 New Release and the winner of the National Nonfiction Silver Book Award and the National Indie Excellence Award for best true crime book of the year!
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION:
For 30 years, Karen has hosted radio shows including the Karen Conti Show which airs weekly in Chicago. She is a regular on local and national television news including Fox News, MSNBC, Court TV, and CNN, providing commentary on criminal and civilmatters.
She has served as a law professor for over 25 years teaching the death penalty and trial skills courses.

John Wayne Gacy was an American serial killer and sex offender who raped, tortured and murdered at least 33 young men and boys in a suburb of Chicago. He became known as the "Killer Clown because of his public performances as a clown before the discovery of his gruesome crimes. All of his known murders were committed inside his ranch-style house. Gacy would lure his victims to his home and trick them into putting on handcuffs, telling them it was part of a magic trick.
Twenty-six victims were buried in the crawl space of his home, three were buried on his property, and four were discovered in a nearby river. There are believed to be remains of many more of his victims that have not been found.
